I’ve always written, mostly for a living. For about 30 years I wrote, produced and reported on international news for the BBC – in TV, radio and online. For a decade I researched anglophone Chinese media and had several academic journal articles and chapters published, plus a book that compared the BBC’s international TV news output with that of the Chinese state broadcaster’s English news service, CGTN.
