I reviewed Josh Kurlantzick’s new book for the LSE Review of Books in March, and it struck me that it is the ‘macro’-level accompaniment to my ‘micro’-level book. His book is a detailed global overview of China’s various attempts to make its voice heard and wield influence through its external-facing media. Mine is a study of what has happened, over almost a decade, to the news output of one specific anglophone Chinese news organisation. You can read the review here.
